WWE Exec Fired After Ex Caught Spreading Online Hate

The Huffington Post reports that Amy Mekelburg, a popular online anti-Muslim Twitter troll, is none other than the ex-wife of former WWE executive Salvatore Siino. The Huffington Post reports that Mekelburg,

“Labeled the Prophet Muhammad a “pedophile” and a “mentally sick conman.” She called Islam a “pervert cult” and mocked Muslims for “lifting their asses” to Allah. She wanted mosques banned in the United States and called herself a modern-day “crusader.” Over and over again, she tweeted about the Muslim Brotherhood infiltrating America and the imminent threat of Sharia law.”

Ibrahim Hooper, spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic relations labeled Mekelburg,

“A major cog in the Islamophobia machine.”

According to The Huffington Post, Siino is now a ‘former’ executive because once the WWE found out about his relation to Mekelburg, he was swiftly terminated due primarily to his specific job responsibilities. Siino, the former VP of Global Content Distribution and Development was responsible for negotiating television deals for the United Arab Emirates, which has a majority Muslim population.

Saudi Prince Condemned By Al Qaeda

The Independent reports that Saudi Arabian Prince Mohammad bin Salman has received an ominous warning from the Yemen based extremist group Al Qaeda. Al Qaeda has notified the prince that his attempts at modernizing the country are ‘sinful projects.’ Al Qaeda apparently singled out the WWE, who visited Saudi Arabia this past April for the Greatest Royal Rumble event. The group stated,

“Disbelieving wrestlers exposed their privates and on most of them was the sign of the cross, in front of a mixed gathering of young Muslim men and women.”
