The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic hit a bump as tonight’s NXT TV tapings were supposed to determine a winner, but that will now be settled at NXT Takeover: New Orleans.

The following teams have moved on in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, and they were scheduled to meet in the final round of the tournament:

  • Authors Of Pain
  • Roderick Strong & Pete Dunne

They were set to face off in the finals on tonight’s tapings, but Kyle O’Reilly and Adam Cole ran in during the match and attacked both teams to cause a no contest. William Regal then announced the finals would now take place at Takeover with Undisputed Era versus Authors Of Pain versus Strong & Dunne in a triple threat; the winner of that match would become tag champs and the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic winner.

*As for the second new team, it appears that Strong & Dunne are a late add, as Mustache Mountain (Tyler Bate and Trent Seven) were announced for the tournament, but have been replaced in the bracket.
