Roman Reigns Reacts to Last Night’s Quiet Philly Crowd

The crowd in Philadephia was noticeably quiet last night for WWE Battleground, and Roman Reigns commented with the Tweet below.

I attended the PPV last night, and the main reason why the crowd was so quiet during the main event Punjabi Prison match is because very little could be seen inside the prison structure.

The match likely came off better on TV, as it pertains to viewing, because the cameras could shoot inside of the structure, but many fans around my area were complaining that they could not see inside the prison. Fans were also very confused by the rules of the match, as they were difficult to hear when they were announced.

This, in addition to the fact that the crowd was dead for both Jinder Mahal (prior to the match), and The Great Khali’s return, made for a very quiet crowd in Philadelphia. Many fans, due to lack of interest and viewing issues, were leaving during the main event.

It’s also worth noting WWE announced 2018 Royal Rumble tickets were on-sale for the fans in attendance for Battleground, so people were also leaving to get in line to purchase tickets.

On a personal note, I was also at the Royal Rumble in Philadelphia the night Reigns won, and I would take that crowd offering that heat over the dead crowd last night any day of the week. Reigns at the very least connects on some type of level, whereas Mahal is getting nothing from the crowd.
