On Donald Trump’s inauguration as President of the United States:

EB: I know this is a sensitive issue because a lot of wrestling fans don’t like when we talk about politics. We’ve just got to kind of wake up and look at the President of the United States who is a WWE Hall of Famer. You are looking at Linda McMahon who is a secretary inside of the government now. We saw hearings earlier this week where Linda was being questioned by the Senate. You’ve got Triple H and Stephanie right there in the hearing room. Jesse “The Body” Ventura was the Governor of Minnesota! It’s becoming really, really hard in my opinion these days to separate our culture, pop culture and politics. Sports Entertainment and wrestling is a part of it. We are just not going to shy away from it.

On whether he thinks Vince McMahon intentionally did not attend Linda’s congressional confirmation hearing and Trump’s inauguration so he wouldn’t be a distraction:

EB: He’s a very high profile personality. He’s a very controversial personality. He’s done a lot of things, said a lot of things and presented a lot things that could be criticized. People could try and turn it and use it against Linda. I absolutely think that was the case and I think it was a smart thing for him to do. Kind of lay back. He’s not running for office. He doesn’t need to be the center of attention.
