Figure Friday: Ringside Collectibles Exclusive WWE Elite Flashback Sting

Hey guys and welcome to an all-new Figure Friday! Be sure to check out previous week’s reviews as well as Figure 2 Photo episodes showing my wrestling figure photography that goes along with each one! You can see more on my Instagram and YouTube, mbg1211.

This week we take a look at the highly anticipated Ringside Collectibles WWE Elite Flashback Wolfpac Sting. It was just released at Ringside Fest last week and can now be ordered at RingsideCollectibles.com. This is arguably Sting’s best figure to date in my opinion. His Defining Moments figure was pretty nice but I’m thrilled to have a Sting in his full, iconic wrestling attire. Not to mention this figure reminds me of my childhood, so there’s a lot of reminiscing going on with this figure for me.

Let’s take a look at Sting fresh in the packaging.

As you can see Sting is actually in different style packaging than the previous weeks of Figure Friday. For some reason, and I’m not sure if Ringside or Mattel decides this, some of their Exclusives are in the previous Elite style packaging. This is the 2015 more square style packaging before the style seen in my previous reviews. So if you’re extremely anal about your current figures matching this may throw you off.

I personally don’t mind as I open mine, obviously, but the packaging still looks nice. You can see the Ringside Exclusive sticker on the front, a neat red/black photo of Sting on the right side as well as a colored photo and his name on the right. Not to mention the Elite Flashback logo and nWo logos. Lastly, there’s a small bio about Sting and his Wolfpac attire on the back talking about the period this figure is based on as well as how he came to be red and black.

Looking at Sting out of the packaging you can see just how wonderful of a figure this is. It’s honestly one of my favorites this year if I really had to choose. The detail on this figure is phenomenal and the young Sting head scan just makes the figure that much better. It’s great for any WCW fan like myself. You can see he has the typical Elite articulation with the ab crunch joint, ball jointed legs with swivel thighs and double-jointed knees. My only disappointment would be the Wolfpac shirt.

Here we have Sting with his removable Wolfpac shirt made out of a thin, flimsy plastic. It fits Sting pretty well, but I must admit it is a bit of a pain to get on and off due to how his hair is. Sting’s head with his hair is a lot wider than the hole opening of the shirt, so be cautious when pulling it over his face as you could end up ripping it or stretching it if you’re not careful. I recommend once you pull it over his face you start to twist his head to help his hair pop out from underneath so you can rest it on top as seen above. Mattel chooses to do plastic shirts now, as they don’t have the budget to do cloth goods as much anymore as cloth is getting expensive. I feel they could’ve maybe done this figure with a cloth shirt but perhaps all of his detail restrained them. It still looks pretty good and you can see it rests on him nicely. You can still see how nicely printed the logos are on the front as well as the added “sewn” detail on the bottom of both sides to give it a “fabric” effect.

Lastly, just looking at all his detail you can see how amazing it is on this figure. The detail in the scorpions is insanely accurate to even the wrinkles in his padding to even the little buckles on the straps of his boots. Then looking at his bat you can see the wood designs to give it an authentic look. The bat handle is a little too thin to sit firmly in his hand but if you put it farther into his hand he can hold it okay for the most part. As I said before Mattel did a really nice job on this figure and it’s my favorite Sting figure to date. All I’d do now is take the jacket from his Defining Moments figure and add it to this one to make it pop even more.

If you’re looking to add him to your collection be sure to order yours today at RingsideCollectibles.com while supplies last. Once he’s gone he’s gone, so I recommend taking advantage of this ASAP!

WWE Slam Crate Unboxing

For those of you unfamiliar with Loot Crate, it’s a $30 subscription-based service where they send you a mystery box of themed goodies every month; this one is every other month though. This box is all WWE themed with Exclusive WWE items and it just debuted.

If you’d like to order one after seeing this article be sure to order through my unique link so you can save 10% on your first box. Order at www.lootcrate.com/mbg1211 and use code MBG at checkout. You must use my link for the discount to apply properly.

This month’s box revolves around “The Firsts” as they say. After seeing everything inside I don’t quite understand some of the connections but there’s still some pretty unique items, such as a 1 of 100 signed Austin Aries trading card if you’re so lucky to get one (I didn’t). I’m not sure if the window for this box is still open or not but if you like what you see you can always apply for the next one. Nothing has been revealed on that one yet though.

Also in the box are:

  • Sasha Banks glasses (blue)
  • Dean Ambrose exclusive belt buckle
  • New Day statue
  • Austin Aries trading card (possibly autographed)
  • Mitch grow-able mini potted plant
  • Enzo & Cass T-shirt
  • WWE Classic Title Pin
  • Collectible box
