Conrad Thompson Talks ‘Something To Wrestle’ Format & Inspiration, Preview The Superfight Rematch Between Lashley & Edwards

Hey Hey It’s Conrad

As noted, the latest edition of Week in Wrestling by WZ Radio regular Justin Barrasso has been posted over on Sports Illustrated’s Extra Mustard, and Something To Wrestle with Bruce Prichard and The Ric Flair Show co-host Conrad Thompson is featured as one of the interview guests. Thompson talks about working with former WWE / TNA creative member Bruce Prichard on the show, which features a weekly topic format on MLW Radio; you can read a few highlights below:

Conrad Thompson comments on his goals for Something To Wrestle with Bruce Prichard:

“I’m trying to create something I would listen to and be into. Bruce trusts that I am in touch with the fan perspective online. So many fans, myself included, have been led to believe certain facts all of these years, but Bruce Prichard is telling us something totally different. And that’s what makes it such an interesting format.”

Thompson comments on the inspiration for the show:

“My first introduction to wrestling was in 1988 with WrestleMania IV. I’m a fan, and I have, like a lot of the fans, grown up on shoot interviews. Over time, they’ve involved, and I’ve got to give a shout-out to Sean Oliver at Kayfabe Commentaries. His ‘Timeline’ product is amazing, and it’s the best thing that ever happened in the industry. That was the idea behind ‘Something to Wrestle With.’ We’ve tweaked that formula a little as we’ve gone, but we’re really focused on just examining one moment in time, and that’s worked for us and our audience.”
