According to F4WOnline.com, currently suspended WWE star Alberto Del Rio is finished with WWE, and will not be returning to the company once his suspension ends.
As we noted earlier, signs were pointing towards Del Rio being finished with the company when he was removed from all upcoming WWE live event listings, even dates that were after the end of his 30 day suspension.
The F4WOnline report notes Del Rio and WWE have come to terms on a release, leaving Del Rio free to work in Mexico and internationally imminently. He would also be free to work in the U.S. in a few weeks.
As for why Del Rio is leaving the company, it had been well documented in the past few months that he was unhappy with WWE creative, and F4WOnline adds he claims he was given “empty promises” when he returned last year, including a main event push which never came to be.
With regards to Del Rio’s real life girlfriend Paige, it should be noted that despite Paige and Del Rio being suspended on the same day earlier this month, their Wellness Policy Violations were for separate reasons.
Del Rio last competed in WWE in a match against John Cena on the August 19th edition of WWE Smackdown.
