WWE Texarkana Live Event Results

1. The Usos vs. Vaudevillians

Wasn’t in the arena yet for this match (shoutout to the understaffed arena for that), but the Usos won, I assume with their usual splash finish.

2. Baron Corbin vs. Heath Slater

Corbin won with the End of Days. Decent match, good heat on Corbin from the mostly kiddie crowd.

3. American Alpha and The Hype Bros vs. The Ascension and Breezango

Alpha won for their team with Grand Amplitude on one of The Ascension. Pretty good match, all the faces got their spots in, decent heat on Breezango with their shenanigans, little to no heat on Ascension.

4. Kane vs. Erick Rowan

Kane won, not gonna lie I went and grabbed a beer this match, it was boring from the get go. Kane was super over with the kids, not much heat for Rowan.

5. AJ Styles vs. John Cena

Best match of the night, Cena won with a second AA. They both hit their finisher (AA, Styles Clash) then a couple of ref bumps and Cena loss teases. Cena had the biggest pop of the night and AJ probably had the most heat with the crowd since the kids were pro Cena to the extreme.

Intermission

6. Becky Lynch beat Natalya by submission with the Disarm-Her. Pretty good match, decent heat for Natty, who controlled most of the match. They both played their roles up to the crowd really well.

7. The Miz beat Apollo Crews in an Intercontinental Championship match with a Skull Crushing Finale. Miz rivaled AJ for most heat, and played the cowardly heel to a tee. Crews was pretty over, though I’m not sure if that says more about him, or Miz’s ability to get heat. Good back and forth with the two of them with a couple of teases for a Crews victory for added drama.

8. WWE World Champion Dean Ambrose beat Dolph Ziggler and Bray Wyatt in a triple threat match. This was pretty good, and got better towards the end. One cool sequence was Wyatt hitting a strike on Dean, then getting superkicked by Ziggler, who got hit with Ambrose’s signature rebound clothesline. Finish came when Bray got superkicked, then hit with Dirty Deeds after Ziggler had rolled out of the ring to pin Wyatt.

Overall, this was a pretty good house show, but it could have played up the current feuds (AJ vs. Ambrose, and Orton, who did not appear curiously, vs. Bray Wyatt.), but well worth it since they haven’t ran a show here in like 3-4 years.
