Samoa Joe Talks WWE, Pro Wrestling vs. MMA, Shinsuke Nakamura, Ronda Rousey, Working with Sting & More with Jim Ross

Samoa JoeThe latest episode of The Ross Report with highly anticipated special guest Samoa Joe is now live on podcastone.com

Obviously the hot topic surrounding Joe at the moment is whether or not he will end up in WWE. There have been a lot of rumors and even some reports claiming he has met with Triple H to firm up details on an offer.

As expected, the former TNA Champion kept his hand very close to his chest during the interview with J.R., keeping up with the usual mantra. That being said, this podcast was recorded prior to WrestleMania, so it’s very likely much has changed since late March and now.

“I’m very much personally open to going there. I kind of look at it as the unchallenged challenge in my career. People have reached out…”

“There’s been inquires back and forth. As of right now we’ll see what presents itself. Whatever the opportunity may be, whether it be something more formal or just on a trial basis.”

The following topics were covered in the interview:

*Does Joe want to work in WWE?

*Joe’s realistic MMA-inspired style of wrestling that sets him apart from other workers.

*Growing up in Orange County; Tank Abbott. Having old school families and being kids with deep respect for parents and authority figures.

*Choosing between MMA and pro wrestling.

*Working in Japan at a young age, living in Tokyo, Hashimoto’s Zero-One promotion.

*Shinsuke Nakamura.

*Ronda Rousey.

*Working with Sting in TNA, being a “hot head” when he was younger, and whether there was any backstage resentment over dropping the title to an older guy.

*More
