Possible Reason Behind Taryn Terrell’s Recent Heel Turn, Alliance with The Doll House & Future Plans for TNA Knockouts

TNA Taryn TerrellAs seen on last week’s “TKO: A Night of Knockouts” edition of Impact Wrestling, Taryn Terrell retained her Knockouts Championship and turned heel, aligning with the debuting Doll House group.

The plan for some time has been for a Taryn vs. Awesome Kong program, but when Kong returned she was getting a babyface reaction, which according to reports, wasn’t what the company had expected. I’m not quite sure I buy that TNA didn’t expect the reaction for Kong – if that’s true it shows some pretty gaping holes in their logic. Of course a big star returning from a long absence (and brief run in WWE) was going to be cheered, and they immediately put her up against the heel Havok who was in the midst of beating down Taryn, then a face.

Either way, turning Taryn opens up programs with the popular Kong and Gail Kim, with the Doll House group getting involved to build cheap heat and help her retain the title. While both are old and/or ongoing feuds, having them switch sides does make them fresh again, especially in the case of Gail Kim (38), who can now take the respectable veteran role against Taryn’s young, entitled attitude.

Mickie James is the other super over babyface on the roster, but they’re currently playing with a retirement angle, and it’s unclear as to what TNA is planning to do with her long-term.
