WWE ringside doctor Christopher Amann has slapped former WWE Superstars CM Punk and Colt Cabana with a defamation lawsuit for comments made on the 2014 “Art of Wrestling” podcast.
The former WWE Champion claimed Amann repeatedly misdiagnosed a lump on his back that turned into a full-blown staph infection, among many other accusations. The doctor is seeking “more than $1 million in compensatory damages, as well as an undetermined amount of punitive damages.”
Amann calls Punk and Cabana’s statements “highly offensive in that they accuse [him] of a gross lack of integrity as a medical doctor, an inability to perform his professional duties as a medical doctor, and in placing the financial interest of his employer above life-threatening health conditions of his patients.”
