Update on ACH Missing Ring of Honor iPPV, Silas Young’s Injury, More on Heat Between ROH and Michael Elgin

Michael ElginAs we reported this weekend, there were several issues with talent in regards to the recent Ring of Honor iPPV in Canada. ACH, who was scheduled in a “no time limit” match against TV Champion Jay Lethal, the biggest match of his career so far, ended up missing his flight and couldn’t make the show. The Wrestling Observer is reporting that there’s a lot of heat not just because he missed an important iPPV event, but because he and Lethal were in a hot program, coming off an incredible 30-minute draw on ROH TV a few weeks ago.

Ring of Honor noted on their website that Silas Young suffered a broken leg, and would be out 3-4 months. Obviously he was taken off the card, but it’s being reported that his leg injury wasn’t as serious as was announced. He will need time off, but it could be shorter than previously anticipated.

In an update on Michael Elgin, the wrestler is still stranded in Canada, as his paperwork wasn’t finalized for a new visa. He very well may be stuck across the border for 90 days, staying with family, despite having bought a new home with his wife (fellow wrestler MsChif) in the U.S. As we reported, the interview where Elgin stated he wanted to do a tryout with Major League Baseball was likely the final straw, after booking conflicts with independent promotions, and how he was handled in the PWG tournament. His title run was likely going to end at the year-end Final Battle PPV, and there was talks of having him face IWPG World Champions AJ Styles, but the decision to do an early switch was made at the last minute, and didn’t even close out the show.

Despite heat between the two parties, it’s still being reported that Ring of Honor is working to bring Elgin back from Canada as soon as possible, and unless the situation changes he is expected to return to action for the promotion, where he is under contract.
