Submission Match

Roderick Strong vs. Cedric Alexander

They start out with a challenge of knife-edge chops. Alexander bails and Cedric follows up with a suicide dive to take him out. Strong throws him into the air with a big back body drop that sends him crashing back-first right into the ring. From this point on Roddy is in total control, bullying his opponent around and calling him "boy". The crowd is currently very pro-Strong after that dangerous spot on the apron; about 70-30 in his favor. He looks the Camel Clutch on, and Cedric counters out of it with a half-stunner, only to take a dropkick to the face. Alexander comes out of nowhere with a giant kick to the side of the head, and now both men are down. Cedric is up first and sets in with a series of headbutts. He dropkicks Strong off the apron and his towel boys – Tadarius Thomas and Adam Page – tend to him. Alexander showing no mercy, diving over the ropes taking down everyone but Roddy, who he then 540 kicks off the barricade. They roll back into the ring and Cedric hits a springboard DDT right into a guiottine headlock, shades of Jimmy Jacobs. Strong gets to the ropes to break the hold, and Cedric starts beating on him with dropkicks in the corner. He hits a Mic Check type move into a dragon sleeper, but Roddy fights out of the hold with knee strikes. They fight up to the top turnbuckle and a fan throws a streamer at them – lots of boo's from the crowd, and they chant "kick him out". Strong hits a superplex, and both guys are down. Eventually they trade right hands; Roddy gets the better and follows up with half a dozen kicks in the corner. Out of nowhere Alexander rolls into what looks like a modified triangle choke, but again his gets to the ropes. Strong Hold attempt, but Cedrick hits him off. They fight up to the top rope again and we get a "please don't die" chant – Cedric doesn't care, as he basically Rock Bottom's him on the top rope, then hits a Lumbar Check, locks in the Strong Hold, and Roddy taps out!

Winner: Cedric Alexander
