Backstage: Josh Mathews Interviews Batista

Backstage we see Josh Mathews interviewing number one contender to the WWE title, Batista. He asks him about what went down between Randy Orton and Ric Flair on RAW. A video package airs highlighting all that went down. We come back and Batista says it’s one thing for Orton to kick him in the head and put him out for months. He says that you don’t take a cheap shot at a legend like Ric Flair. He says he’s going to make Orton pay. Batista says tonight is only the beginning of what he’s got in store for Orton. He says tonight he’ll take his title. Then he’ll take his pride, dignity and his health. He says he won’t stop until he wipes out his entire Legacy faction.

Samoan Strap Match:

-Umaga vs. CM Punk

Umaga’s music hits and out he comes for this Samoan strap match.  CM Punk’s music hits and out comes the money in the bank champion. Both guys will be tied by the wrist to a Samoan strap in this match. To win the match you must drag your opponent and touch all four corners with your hand. Lots of whipping with the strap, the customary hanging over the top with the strap was done, and all your other favorite strap-match spots. Finish came when Punk hit three corners. Umaga pulled the strap toward him, but Punk hit him with the GTS and touched the fourth and final corner to win the match. Announcers act like it is a huge upset.

Winner: CM Punk

Backstage, Hurricane Helms interviews ECW champion Christian. Christian acted like he didn’t want to be the guy to retire Tommy Dreamer. He then smiles and says he sure is going to miss Dreamer. He says he’ll miss how Dreamer’s body looks like a melted candle. Dreamer comes up and tells Christian he looks like the wick of the candle. Jack Swagger comes in and tries an insult of his own, but Christian and Dreamer both ignore him and walk away.
