NWA Charlotte on Summer Vacation to August 7, 2009.

(Charlotte, NC) NWA Charlotte officials announced today that summer vacation will swing into the promotion for the months of June and July, with regular shows returning on Friday, August 7, 2009 for two big nights.

“With all of the activities that have occurred with us since April 25th, we need the time to rebuild our sets and stages in our new NWA Coliseum at Metrolina expo,” said NWA Charlotte President JD Costello. “We will be taking a summer vacation for June and July and will return with full action again beginning Friday, August 7th.”

The plans for the new NWA Coliseum at Metrolina Expo include constructing a larger set, stage and interior. “Brady Parker has designed a set with more lights, more effects, more depth for the ramp and stage, and larger surface areas for wrestling action,” added Costello. “With all of the added space here at Metrolina Expo, it gives us more room and opportunity to build a television set with separate components to it, versus our space restrictions at the old Coliseum.”

NWA Charlotte officials will also begin a two-month swing through various promotions across the east coast searching for new NWA talent to supplement the current NWA Charlotte roster. “We want our fans to see the best NWA stars on the east coast,” said Costello. “Our fans demand the quality of professional wrestling athletes like Phill Shatter, Ryan O’Reilly, Mikael Judas, Jeff Lewis, Lodi, Josh Magnum, Malachi, New Wave, Brad Anderson, Ricky Steamboat Jr., and all of our other stars.”

NWA Charlotte returns with professional wrestling action on August 7th and 8th at NWA Coliseum at Metrolina Expo. “We have two back-to-back shows planned on these two dates that will really help put Charlotte back on the map as the epicenter of NWA country and professional wrestling territory,” said Costello. “If you are a wrestling fan, from anywhere in the east coast area, you will want to see these two shows on Friday and Saturday, August 7th and 8th.”

The shows on August 7th and 8th will feature household names and professional wrestling superstars from NWA Charlotte, Ring of Honor, TNA, plus icons formerly with WWF, WWE, WCW, and the NWA, as well as some surprises and special guests.

“The other exciting venture that we will finally have the time to complete is the massive NWA Charlotte web re-design,” said Costello. “In addition to our agency, Ideas Squared here in Charlotte, we have retained the services of Visual Chefs in Richmond, Virginia, to help us complete the site during summer vacation.”

The new website will feature expanded blogs from Lodi, JD Costello, Tim “Dixon Knows Best” Dixon, and a rotating Guest Fan columnist. “Our site will give fans the opportunity to find and purchase tickets for each show, manage their online profiles, join Chat Rooms and Message Boards, play interactive games, download NWA desktop widgets, watch episodes of ‘Unleashed’, join NWA Twitter and other interactive media points,” added Costello.
