Mia Yim On Queen Of The Mountain Match: We’ve All Got Each Other’s Backs, It’s Going To Be A Banger

Mia Yim recently sat down with Liam A. Stewart of Inside The Ropes to discuss her return to IMPACT Wrestling. During the interview, Yim talked about having the support of Scott D’Amore and Gail Kim and being trusted to compete in the first-ever Queen of the Mountain match at Slammiversary.

“For them to give me the trust and opportunity to not just be a part of the company, but to be a part of a big match like Queen of the Mountain, that says a lot to me. And it helps especially with my anxiety,” she explained, “it helps when the office backs you up, but also when you’re put in a position where you’re surrounded by a bunch of talented women that support each other.

“So as nerve-wracking as this match is, because it’s going to be history-making — I’m still trying to learn the rules of the match, but to look at my left and right and to see Jordynne Grace, Tasha [Steelz], Deonna [Purrazzo]. Just to see the company that I’m with and what all of us have been through, and with all the talent. We all got each other’s back, and I know that this match is going to be a banger because of it. It involves ladders, which is my favorite. So I’m like ‘this is gonna be great.’ We might bleed a little bit,” Yim said, “but it’s gonna be alright.”

“The HBIC” returned to IMPACT at Under Siege last month after a few years with WWE. She will challenge for the IMPACT Knockouts Championship in the historic Queen of the Mountain match, which also includes Tasha Steelz, Deonna Purrazzo, Jordynne Grace, and Chelsea Green.

IMPACT Slammiversary airs on FITE and pay-per-view on Sunday, June 19, and will emanate live from Nashville, TN.
