Matt Cardona Undergoes Bicep Surgery, Looks Forward To His Return

Matt Cardona is always ready, and he’s already gearing up for his comeback story.

Cardona tore his bicep at GCW Downward Spiral on May 28 and subsequently confirmed that he needed to have surgery. On June 7, the reigning NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion tweeted a picture of himself after the procedure.

He also wrote that he ordered a leather jacket and a denim vest, a clear reference to the outfit Triple H famously wore when he returned from a torn quad in 2002.

Update: Later in the day on June 7, Cardona posted a video on Twitter and made it clear that he’ll be in Knoxville on June 11 for NWA Alwayz Ready, where he’s scheduled to defend the title against Nick Aldis.

“Just got home from surgery, fixing my torn bicep,” said Cardona. “And the first thing I thought about is this, my NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship. And nothing is going to stop me from being in Knoxville, Tennessee, this Saturday for Alwayz Ready. My show, my pay-per-view. Now I don’t know what Billy Corgan’s gonna do. I don’t know what his decision’s going to be. I don’t know if I’m walking out of Alwayz Ready with the Ten Pounds of Gold. But I do know this. No matter what, I am the real Worlds Champion. And Nick, you know it, too.”

On behalf of WrestleZone, we wish Cardona speedy recovery.
