Killer Kross Drawn To ‘Big Fight Feel’ Of The Wrestling Showcase, Scarlett Bordeaux Is Excited For Her In-Ring Return

Killer Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux will do whatever it takes to win.

Collectively known as the “Killer Smokeshow”, Killer Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux recently took part in an interview with WrestleZone to speak about their wrestling careers, including Kross’ entry into The Wrestling Showcase tournament. Labor Day weekend has been a huge weekend for pro wrestling in recent years, as it’s been host to All In and now All Elite Wrestling’s All Out pay-per-view in Chicago each year since 2018.

This year, The Wrestling Showcase will be part of the festivities, as will AdFreeShows.com‘s Top Guy weekend, and Kross spoke about getting a chance to compete in the Showcase tournament on such a big stage.

“I feel really good about this, and it’s not the same type of event, but this feeling that I have towards the event reminds me of how I felt right before I got signed to WWE. It was back in 2019 and all of these crazy independent shows were starting to explode, like these different events that were something meaningful. Every show means something, but there are these shows that mean something just a little bit more — GCW is running Bloodsport, that had a big fight feel. PWG has always had a big fight feel to it, and outside of commercialized wrestling, there’s tons of cool independent wrestling, but then there’s these shows like this one coming up that has a different feel to it and I love that.

“I’ve always been addicted to the big fight feel scenarios and this has got it. These types of tournaments, every single professional wrestler should be striving to be part of these types of things. This is where you’re really going to find out who you are in the ring. You’re going to find out if you can hang. One-off matches? They’re a dime a dozen, they could be five-star, they could be super-violent, they could be career-defining, but when you get into a situation where you might have to wrestle two, three, four or five times in one night in these types of tournaments, this is what I’m looking for.”

WrestleZone previously revealed that Killer Kross will be facing off with Tony Nese in the tournament, and Kross said that he respects Nese but it won’t be a good night for him in the ring.

Scarlett recently returned to the ring, totaling six matches so far this year. After joking that her 2022 total eclipsed all of the matches she had in WWE, she spoke about how she wished her dark matches against Shotzi Blackheart would have had an audience and described the type of fighter she’s developing into now.

“It actually breaks my heart that no one got to see those dark matches, they were pre-audience, so even before the audience came back at SummerSlam. It breaks my heart that nobody got to see those matches, they were really good and Shotzi Blackheart is one of my best friends. I love her, I love working with her, but since WWE I have become a bit scrappier of a fighter,” Scarlett said.

“I’m a very dirty fighter and I will do whatever it takes to win. I learned from the best, basically to try and send people home in a body bag, so that’s what I’ve learned from this fine gentleman [Kross]. Of course the suplex, he taught me how to suplex people properly, but I consider myself to be a brawler and my goal is always to hurt the person as much as possible,” Scarlett stated. “I’m on a roll now, so who knows what’s next. I don’t plan to stop any time soon, I’m really excited to be back in the ring.”

Killer Kross added that they both share similar interests, and that’s what they try to communicate from an in-ring perspective.

“She, like myself, if you don’t mind me saying, we’ve always been fans of throwback styles. We’re both ECW fans, we’re both Attitude Era fans, we’re both fans of Jerry Lynn,” Kross said. “We’ve always tried to draw from that place, those styles. The showmanship will always be there, but you’re very scrappy.”

“Sable meets Luna, with a little bit of Sensational Sherri in there,” Scarlett added.
