Chris Jericho and Ortiz will clash at AEW Dynamite: Road Rager on June 15.
The broadcast team announced the news on the June 1 episode. Earlier in the show, Jericho rejected Eddie Kingston’s challenge to a Blood & Guts Match, but when Ortiz attacked him from behind and cut some of his hair, “The Wizard” changed his mind. He agreed to the bout and also stated that he wanted to face Ortiz in a Hair vs. Hair Match, as he’s determined to shave Ortiz bald. The contest was subsequently announced for “Road Rager,” while Blood & Guts was confirmed for the June 29 episode.
Previously, Jericho and Ortiz were stablemates in the Inner Circle. But after Eddie Kingston beat him at AEW Revolution, “The Influencer” turned on Santana and Ortiz to form the Jericho Appreciation Society. The JAS has been feuding with the trio ever since, and the new stable beat them, alongside Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley, in the Anarchy in the Arena Match at AEW Double or Nothing.
