FTR Wants To ‘Revive’ NJPW’s Tag Division, Are Pissed Off That People Still Doubt Them

FTR hopes to add more gold to their resume by the end of the year.

During an interview with Brandon Walker of Barstool’s Rasslin’, FTR’s Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood spoke about their tag title accolades and striving to want more. FTR currently hold the AAA and ROH Tag Team Championship, but Jurassic Express still has the AEW titles. Wheeler said that it doesn’t just piss him off that Jurassic Express has those titles, because he gets pissed that FTR doesn’t.

Cash: “It doesn’t piss me off that it’s just those guys that have it. It’s just when anybody else has those titles, it pisses me off a little bit. Because for what now, a year and a half, we’ve been without them, and we still have the confidence to say we are absolutely the best tag team on the planet. And yeah we have the AAA, we have the Ring of Honor titles, but until we’re the AEW Tag Team Champions in AEW, there’s gonna be some people that doubt that, that we are the best, and that pisses me off.”

Dax and Cash went on to speak about his goals for the rest of the year, which also includes wanting a run at the IWGP Tag Team Championship.

Cash: “By the end of 2022, I’m gonna say we will be the first-ever two-time AEW Tag Team Champions and we’ll have the IWGP Tag Team Titles at some point this year because we’ll make that happen. I’m just gonna put it out there.

Dax: Book us. You guys need us so bad, you need a tag team to represent your tag team division, for the love of god, New Japan, book us.

Cash: We’ll come revive it.”

FTR recently spoke about heels and faces in professional wrestling today, and Dax Harwood went in-depth about what he believes makes a great heel in today’s wrestling business. Check out his comments about being a successful bad guy in the modern age at this link.
