Wardlow Is A Huge Superman Mark, But The ‘Man Of Steel’ Shot Wasn’t Planned

Wardlow has a manifest destiny.

During an interview on Superstar Crossover with Y100’s Josh Martinez, Wardlow spoke about his Superman fandom, as well as the recent “tribute” to one of the character’s films on the May 4 episode of Dynamite. Wardlow noted the similarities between a shot of him being led in handcuffs and a scene from Man Of Steel, but said it was completely unplanned.

“No, that’s what’s crazy. Manifestation is real. So nobody even knows, I’m a huge Superman mark. I have a bookshelf full of comics. I just watched Man of Steel and Batman v. Superman the other night. Like this is, nobody knows that. This was completely unplanned. And all of a sudden, I’m watching Man Of Steel and I go, ‘this looks real familiar.’ And I pulled up my picture, and I’m like — I grew up, everybody thought Goldberg was cool. Now there’s a lot to be said about Goldberg and his wrestling abilities, all that sh-t aside. The character Goldberg in 1999 was awesome. Dave Batista was awesome. Brock Lesnar is a monster. You grow up like, ‘I wanna be that guy.’ Like they’re the monsters, they run the company, they’re the most popular. That’s what I wanna be.

“[I’m] obsessed with Superman. Now I’m opening up Twitter and there’s comparisons to Goldberg, there’s comparisons to Batista, there’s comparisons to Brock Lesnar. There’s side-by-side pictures of me and my security and Goldberg and his security. There’s side-by-side pictures of me with my security with Superman and his security. I open up Twitter every day and my mind just explodes. All of this stuff just happened organically. I didn’t just come in saying hey, ‘I wanna mimic Superman, hey I wanna mimic my favorite wrestlers.’ No, this just all happened organically. It’s absolute insanity how my life has come to this.”
