Brian Myers Confirms His IMPACT Wrestling Contract Has Expired

Brian Myers wants to be his own boss now that his contract with IMPACT Wrestling has expired.

Myers returned to the promotion in July 2020, a few months after WWE released him in a wave of cuts in April. Since then, he has been a featured member of the roster. He led The Learning Tree, a stable that included VSK and Zicky Dice, for several months before he ended it in February. Most recently, he has reunited with Matt Cardona as The Major Players; the duo unsuccessfully competed for the tag titles at the IMPACT Rebellion pay-per-view earlier this month.

During an appearance on the Battleground PodcastMyers confirmed that his contract has expired; he stated that he likes IMPACT, but he’s happy with the freedom that comes with being able to work wherever he wants.

“I had signed a deal with IMPACT that expired and now I realize I don’t really, as much as I like IMPACT, I don’t need that to be my thing,” said Cardona. “I can kind of come and go and work for whoever I choose and please and ultimately be my own boss, which is the best part.”

Myers also noted that he’s “along for the ride” with Cardona on the independent scene, as the two men continue to wrestle all over the country.

IMPACT Wrestling has advertised a Tables Match between Brian Myers and W. Morrissey for the May 5 episode; the bout was taped at the post-Rebellion session on April 23.

Outside of IMPACT, Myers will face Nick Aldis at NWA PowerrrTrip 2 on April 30.
