AEW Dynamite Results (4/27/22)

Tonight on AEW Dynamite, two partners clash in effort to qualify for the Owen Hart Men’s Tournament as Dax Harwood battles Cash Wheeler.


AEW DYNAMITE

April 27, 2022, Philadelphia, PA

MATCH 1

Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Qualifier

Dax Harwood vs. Cash Wheeler

CM Punk joins commentary with a Bret Hart hoodie on. Cash and Dax both come out with Hart Foundation themed trunks on. The two partners get down to business with some mat work. The two men fist bump after a stalemate. The mat works continues and Philadelphia cheers for the two fighters. Dax seems to inadvertantly poke Cash in the eye and Cash is not pleased. He gives Dax a shot to the extremities as a receipt.

Cash has Dax in a sleeper, but Dax props his partner up top for some chops and then a super plex. “This is awesome” chants as Dax goes for a diving headbutt but Cash moves, shoves Dax to the outside and we go to picture-in-picture.

Suplexes are down and more mat wrestling goes down. Dax goes for a slingshot Liger Bomb but Cash turns it into a Frankensteiner. Dax hits his slingshot Liger Bomb for a near fall. He gets another one with a victory roll. A piledriver from Cash. Two count. “Fight forever” chants. Dax crotches Cash in the corner. Cash turns it around and goes for a super belly to back, but Dax turns it into a crossbody. Two count. Both men spill to the floor and Cash favors his knee. Bryce Remsburg begins his count. Both answer at nine. Dax soon goes for a sharpshooter. but hesitates. He gets rolled up, but Dax rolls it in his favor: 1-2-3.

WINNER and QUALIFIES: Dax Harwood

Post match FTR embrace and Cash applauds his partner. Dax embraces him again on the apron.

Right after the match, it gets announced that CM Punk will face Hangman Page for the AEW World Heavyweight Title at Double or Nothing. Punk grabs a mic and heads to the ring. Punk knows he can still get the job done. He like Hangman Page, but up until now, it’s all been practice for this. Without the fans, there is no CM Punk. Double or Nothing is in Las Vegas and Punk’s never been a gambling man, but he always bets on himself. Win, lose or draw, he’ll fight until the wheels come off.

We see a video of Scorpio Sky and Dan Lambert. They talk up Sky’s accolades before Sky notes he was screwed out of his TNT Title reign. Philly is here to see Scorpio Sky fight back and take what is rightfully his.

MATCH 2

Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley & Wheeler Yuta vs. The Factory

The men separate each other off and it’s Mox against Nick Comeroto. Soon it’s him vs. Aaron Solo. Hard forearms. Wheeler gets the tag and a hometown Philly pop.  He finds himself isolated through the comemrcial break until Danielson gets the hot tag to kick away at Solo. He topes to QT and Comeroto before leaping at Solo back in the ring. Solo rolls him up, but Danielson gets him in the Labell Lock. QT breaks it up  and gets a Mox half-and-half for his efforts. Danielson gets back with Solo, but Aaron shoves him off. Solo leaps off and Danielson hits him with a dropkick. Comeroto beals Yuta back and forth.

Comeroto goes for a Oklahoma stampede, but Yuta keeps turning it into guillotines and chokeholds. Yuta hammers away at Nick as Danielson and Mox isolate the other two. Wheeler ties Nick up with a backslide pin for the victory.

WINNERS: Blackpool Combat Club

The four women who have qualified for the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament confront one another. Ruby Soho talks some trash to Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter.

Schiavone is with Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus and Christian Cage. JB admits he feels like a sore lose, but Christian calls him out and says he’s just a loser, but that won’t happen again. He issues a challenge to any top five tag team. Enter Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs.

MATCH 3

Lance Archer (with Jake Roberts) vs. Wardlow

MJF runs down Wardlow up in the suites as Wardlow walks down handcuffed with security and no music. As the crew gets the handcuffs off him, Archer sentons on top of the humanity from the apron. Wardlow gets in the ring and catches Archer with a running rana. Wardlow hoists Archer up and slams him down. Wardlow goes for a powerbomb, but Archer turns it into a chokeslam attempt. Both men lariat one another. Archer gets a chokeslam on Wardlow. He hits a Blackout. He makes a lacidasical cover and Wardlow crucifixes him for a two count.

Both men are up top and Wardlow headbutts Archer down. Wardlow hits a senton and gets a two. Wardlow powerbombs Archer, but he favors his left arm. He goes for another again. He hits it. One more time. He nails it and immediately picks Archer up to hit another. 1-2-3.

WINNER: Wardlow

We have the JAS “sit-down” segment. Matt Minard, Angelo Parker, Jake Hager and Jericho all come out first. Parker calls the fans the AEW Galaxy. Out come Eddie Kingston, Santana and Ortiz. Big “Eddie” chants from Philly. Jericho says people pay to see the JAS. Both Ortiz and Santana flip off them and Garcia instigates the trio to hit them. Eddie gets on the mic. He tosses the chairs and table. He doesn’t care if it’s five on three, let’s go. Jericho calls them stupid sons of bitches. They’re going to take them out one by one. Jericho is taking out a hit on Eddie, Santana and Ortiz. Jericho tries to instigate Eddie too. Eddie gets intense, he says if you put a hit on somebody, you better put them in the ground. Jericho looked unnerved.

MATCH 4

Philly Street Fight

Serena Deeb vs. Hikaru Shida

Shida goes on a tear against Serena. Shida sets up a chair on the outside. Shida sizes Deeb up on the outside, but Deeb uses the chair to block Shida on the outsdie. Deeb hits a kneebreaker on the chair and we go to picture in picture.

Deeb is in control. She goes for another kneebreaker on the chair, but Shida sends her face first into the chair. Shida pulls out a bag and it’s powder . Deeb sends it into the face of Shida and begins dissecting her wih Kendo stick shots.

Shida finds some steady momentum, and later catches Deeb with a chair shot up top. Shida hits an avalanche falcon arrow for a near fall.

Deeb escapes Shida’ clutches with a thumb to the eye and she hits a Deeb-tox onto a chair. Shida somehow kicks out. Deeb goes for a Serenity Now and Shida tries to use the ropes. No dice with it being a street fight. Deeb locks in a Texas Cloverleaf and gets the submission win.

WINNER: Serena Deeb

Lexi Nair is with MJF until he yells her off screen after calling her “Lindsay.” He gets on the phone with “big man.” It’s by all accounts W. Morrissey as MJF says “you can’t teach that.”

We see Fuego Del Sol laid out on stage. Malakai Black is about to unmask him but Alex Abrahantes interrupts her and reveals that both Penta and PAC are reunited.  Not jus hat, but Rey Fenix has returned. He appears behind House Of Black and takes it to Buddy Matthews. Death Triangle is back intact.

On Rampage it will be Swerve Strickland vs. Darby Allin in a Owen Hart Foundation qualifier. They both stake claim to their respective “houses.”

MATCH 5

Adam Cole, ReDRagon and Young Bucks vs.  Dante Martin, Brock Anderson, Lee Johnson & The Varsity Blonds

The babyface youngsters get the better of the Super Elite as we head into picture-in-picture.

Back from break, the Bucks and Super Elite are on a tear. They hit a four-way BTE Trigger before Cole lowers a Boom for the 1-2-3.

WINNERS: The Super Elite

We see that JAS has taken out Santana and Ortiz. They throw a fireball in the face of Kingston.

Ladder Match

Scorpio Sky vs. Sammy Guevara (c)

The two fight on the outside and Sammy German suplexes Sky hard on the entry ramp. Sammy begins to climb a huge ladder, but Sky pulls him down and he keeps going. They go back and forth at fighting ofr the belt. Sammy hits a corkscrew senton off the ladder as we head to break.

Bacl from it, Sammy leaps from one ladder but Sky catches him off the other with cutter to the canvas. Sky pulls out a barbed wire ladder. Big “E-C-Dub” chants. Sky slides the ladder tinto the ring. Sammy hits a Spanish fly onto the barbed wire. Guevara grabs hold of Lambert and Tay Conti kicks him in the balls. Page VanZant attacks Tay. Sammy battles Sky who is back on his feet. Both she and Sky celebrate but both of them get kicked. Sammy and Tay make out. Sammy grabs the barbed wire ladder once more. Sky nails a leaping flatliner to Sammy. The two find themselves on the ladder. Tay jumps on Sky, Sammy gets jumped by Page, both roundhouse kick eachother out. Sky and Sammy duke it out with some close calls. Sky sends Sammy back first into the barbed wire.  Sammy gives it one more effort, but Sky sends him sailing and grabs the belt.

WINNER and NEW TNT Champion: Scorpio Sky
