Montez Ford: The Street Profits Are More Aggressive Now Because We Want To Take Our Titles Back

The Street Profits have been more aggressive in recent weeks, as the duo remains determined to recapture the WWE RAW Tag Team Championship.

Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins displayed more of an edge heading into WWE WrestleMania 38, and because they came up short at “The Show of Shows”, it seems like their frustration has only been augmented by this setback.

During an appearance on the Battleground Podcast, Ford discussed their loss at WrestleMania, where they unsuccessfully challenged RK-Bro in a Triple Threat Match for the titles. He explained that The Street Profits are particularly hungry for the gold because they never lost it in the first place, as he recalled how they swapped the championships with the New Day in 2020. Almost two years later, Ford and Dawkins are frustrated because, in their mind, the thing they’ve been chasing is rightfully theirs.

“When we had the draft last year, we traded off the RAW Tag Team Championship, so we actually never lost the RAW Tag Team Titles,” said Ford. “So now that we’re back on the flagship show, the most longest-running episodic television show in history, which is Monday Night RAW, which is Monday Night Profits, we’re back on Monday Night RAW, and we have RK-Bro, which , very excited, great tag team, a great brotherhood, a great love and friendship that they have and share and all these moments they share together. But they also possess something that does not belong to them entirely, which is the RAW Tag Team Titles.

“So yes, that frustration will rise, yes, that frustration will rise because we want that prize, which is the RAW Tag Team Titles. So yes the frustration is there. Yes we’re coming off the heels of WrestleMania, yes we’re coming off the heels of two years of trying to get to WrestleMania and now, and now, in pursuit of RAW Tag Team Titles, we have RK-Bro that currently possesses them. So yes the aggression has went up because as you know, as time passes, and you don’t have something that’s retrieved and it comes back to you, that frustration rises.”

Ford went on to explain that The Street Profits are trying to stay posied, but the frustration’s still there, and it’s rising.

“But you’ve got to remain poised,” said Ford. “You gotta remain poised, consistent, keep your mind on a swivel and keep everything good. But that frustration does rise, and that’s what the current mode and gameplan and setting that we in right now. We’re trying to get back something that we never lost and I think that, if that was anybody in that same situation, you’re trying to get back something you never lost, you’d be frustrated too.”

Ford and Dawkins defeated fellow former champions Alpha Academy in a Texas Tornado tag team bout this past week on WWE RAW.
