New RAW Women’s Champion Crowned At WWE WrestleMania 38 Night 1

At WWE WrestleMania 38 Night One, Bianca Belair challenged Becky Lynch for the WWE RAW Women’s Championship.

Both women came to the ring with a special entrance worthy of the WrestleMania stage; Lynch rode to the stage in a fancy car, while the Texas Southern University marching band played Belair to the ring.

Lynch dodged a KOD attempt in the opening seconds and planted Belair with a Manhandle Slam. “Big Time Becks” continued to control the bout in the opening minutes. “The EST” rallied with a Disarm-Her out of nowhere. The brawl spilled out of the ring, where Lynch yanked on Belair’s hair and slammed her into the steel steps. Lynch targeted Belair’s throat, which she recently injured and maintained the advantage.

The champion squashed each of Belair’s attempted rallies, but “The EST” persevered and slammed her to the mat with a suplex. She kept fighting and rocked Lynch with a gut-buster. Belair caught the champion and slammed her face-first to the canvas. A handspring-moonsault earned the challenger a two count. “The EST” hit a 450 splash for another two count.

Belair dodged a Man-handle Slam and planted Lynch with a spinebuster. Lynch fired back by blocking a moonsault and sending her opponent face-first into the turnbuckle. “Big Time” Becks pulled Belair by her hair and slammed her into the ring post. She then floored her with a Man-handle Slam onto the steel steps. Belair narrowly avoided getting counted out, and her fighting spirit clearly frustrated the champion. Belair ultimately hit the KOD for the win.

In doing so, Belair avenged her unforgettable loss to Lynch at WWE SummerSlam 2021 and won a title at WrestleMania for the second year in a row.
