AEW Dynamite Results (3/30/22)

All Elite Wrestling will deliver a star-studded show with the March 30 episode of AEW Dynamite.

The results are as follows:

CM Punk vs. Max Caster (with Anthony Bowens)

Punk and Caster lock up. Caster briefly gains the upper hand, and he later grounds Punk with a back-breaker. He continues to target the veteran’s back, but Punk rallies with a flurry of offense. Caster evades the GTS and dumps Punk on his head with a Fisherman Buster. Punk fires back with a super hurricanrana, along with his signature knee/bulldog combination. Caster gets some help from a Bowens distraction. In the end, Punk plants Caster with a piledriver and makes him tap out to the Anaconda Vice.

Winner: CM Punk

In a post-match interview, Tony Schiavone asks his interest in the world title. He makes the championship taunt again and asks the crowd what it means; they respond by chanting his name. Punk says he doesn’t know who the champion will be, whether it’ll be Adam Cole or Hangman Page. He makes it clear that before his time is done, he’ll have many more scars and he’ll win the world championship.

Backstage Segment: MJF and FTR

MJF and FTR are standing backstage; “The Salt of the Earth” says that Wardlow “doesn’t exist” in AEW anymore, but The Pinnacle will bounce back with a win tonight against Gunn Club. Dax Harwood says he doesn’t want to get in the middle of MJF’s feud with Wardlow. MJF responds by saying Wardlow used to “talk s—” about FTR all the time. FTR reluctantly puts their hands together with MJF to show that The Pinnacle is on the same page.

Jay Lethal vs. Jon Moxley

The crowd is split, as the live fans loudly cheer for both men. They feel each other out, and the match is a stalemate early on. The two men trade blows, and Moxley drills the former ROH World Champion with some stiff strikes. Lethal rolls through a German suplex and eats a lariat. Moxley punches him in the corner, but Lethal shoves him off. Lethal dives onto Moxley and gains more momentum. He continues to control the bout for a minute, but Moxley fires up with a superplex that leaves both men down. Lethal kicks Moxley, and both men are down again after a crossbody. The two competitors trade blows again, and Moxley turns Lethal inside-out with a lariat. Lethal takes Moxley to the mat with the Lethal Combination.

Moxley goes for the Paradigm Shift, but his knee gives out. Lethal goes for the Lethal Injection and turns Moxley’s choke attempt into a roll up. He plants Moxley with a Brainbuster and hits the diving elbow. Moxley ultimately gets the win with the Paradigm Shift.

Winner: Jon Moxley

After the match, the two men shake hands.

A video package recaps Marina Shafir’s run in AEW.

FTR vs. Gunn Club (with Billy Gunn)

MJF joins the commentary team after both teams enter. Harwood and Colten Gunn start the bout and feel each other out. Austin tags in and taunts Harwood. Cash Wheeler enters the match and gains the upper hand, FTR double-teams Austin, who eventually escapes and takes a moment to recover. Billy Gunn drills Cash with a cheap shot. The interference helps Austin and Colten take control.

Cash rallies, but Colten stops him from tagging Dax. Gunn Club continues to maintain the advantage, but Cash perseveres and tags Dax, who quickly clears house. Austin nearly steals the win by holding Harwood’s feet down during a pin. The camera pans backstage, and Wardlow is shown talking to the ring and attacking security guards. He enters the arena and points to MJF. Security officials eventually manage to escort Wardlow to the back. In the ring, FTR overcomes Billy’s interference and his the Big Rig for the win,

Winners: FTR

Cash and Dax argue with MJF after the match. They make it clear they’re upset about the Wardlow situation, but they still leave together.

Backstage Segment: Jericho Appreciation Society

Chris Jericho calls the JAS the revolutionary force in the wrestling industry. He says anyone who wants to join the group can “GFY”. Garcia brags about their win last week. Jericho and Hager remind everyone that Santana, Ortiz, and Eddie Kingston are gone. Hager pulls away a curtain and reveals that the trio is back; they attack JAS and the brawl spills out to the arena. Kingston beats Jericho up all the way into the ring. He blasts Jericho with a Spinning Back Fist.

The beatdown continues, but Hager saves Jericho from further damage. He attacks Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz, and JAS takes control. Garcia locks Kingston in a Sharpshooter, and Jericho hits “The Mad King” with a bat.

Jericho whips Kingston with a belt and drops him with the Judas Effect. JAS stands tall over Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz again.
