The Watch List takes a look at what matches you should be watching while you’re at home and they come recommended by your favorite professional wrestling stars.
WrestleZone recently spoke with Powerhouse Hobbs, who picked some of his recent work with CM Punk and Orange Cassidy, among other big names on the current All Elite Wrestling roster.
“I feel the same about all these matches — my match with Christian [Cage], my match with Hangman Page, my match with obviously CM Punk, which holds a special place in my heart, and he knows why,” Powerhouse Hobbs said. “My match with Orange Cassidy, my Eliminator Tournament match with him. Then you look at the three series of matches that I had with Dante [Martin]. You look at all those matches, and you can just see how I climbed the ladder every match. Now I don’t want to toot my own horn, but you see the improvement, you see the champion qualities, you can kind of glimpse what the future may hold.”
Hobbs then went on to speak about his in-ring attire and influences, noting how he’s also seen fans wearing attire and trying to emulate him in their own way.
“Just the stuff that I like as far as the overalls, and that’s stuff that I grew up like seeing guys in my neighborhood wear,” Hobbs said. “That’s stuff that I wore as a kid, I’m a big Bell Biv DeVoe mark, and that’s what they wore. I had a flat top and a pair of cross-color airbrush jeans. As far as the way I look in the ring intimidation factor, that’s just all me. That’s just the environment and how I grew up. And I think it does come off well because a lot of the younger generation is looking at that. And I’ve been at shows where fans had their own airbrush overalls on and people trying to do the snarl that I do.”
