WWE 2K22 released earlier this month, and as players make their way through the game, a group of players dug into the game’s database and found files relating to a hidden storyline that was scrapped.
According to multiple users on Reddit, a storyline featuring Bray Wyatt and his “The Fiend” character were found in WWE 2K22‘s database. This storyline was likely to pop up in the game’s MyRise mode, which has players creating their own WWE superstar and taking them through various situations. The datamine uncovered dialogue that suggested that Dana Brooke would become “possessed” by The Fiend, and turned into “The Shiend,” with references to an “Elimination Chamber of Horrors” match that may or may not have featured The Fiend’s puppets also found.
Elsewhere in the datamine, information was found that suggests the MyRise player would later become “possessed” by The Fiend, with SmackDown General Manager Adam Pearce tasked with saving them. Of course, with Wyatt no longer a part of WWE 2K22, those plans had to be scrapped, but were likely kept within the games database and just hidden away from the public version of the game.
Other contents found in the datamine are character models for various The Fiend-related characters, including Mercy The Buzzard, Abby The Witch, and a playable Firefly Funhouse arena.
