Tony Khan Addresses Chavo Guerrero’s Claims Of Not Hearing Back From Him

Tony Khan makes it clear that he likes Chavo Guerrero a lot, but was suprised that the former AEW star went to the media after stating he a missed a message from him. Khan answered an unexpected question regarding Guerrero at the media scrum following the AEW Revolution PPV. Chavo was last seen managing Andrade El Idolo before taking a leave from an on-air role, but this past week in a chat with Wrestling INC Chavo says he was surprised to see that he was removed from the AEW roster page. Chavo claims he sent Khan “some texts” and left him a voicemail during February after he was finished being a stunt coordinator for Young Rock, but didn’t hear anything back from Khan.

“Coming back in early February, started giving Tony some texts, no answer, no reply. Called him, left him a voice message, no reply whatsoever. I am like, ‘hmm, okay.’ Then all of a sudden I see I am not part of the page anymore, of the AEW roster. So, it kind of pisses me off, to be honest,” Chavo said in the interview.

“Hey, I am a big boy, if there’s not plans for me, totally fine, I get it. But answer your phone. I deal with billionaires all the time, he’s not the first one, so it kind of pisses me off a little bit. After working with Vince McMahon, you can deal with anybody. So I am like, ‘answer your phone.’ This is not cool. So that’s where we are at.”

Khan addressed Chavo’s airing of grievances at the scrum.

“I am going to call Chavo,” he said. “To be honest, I was a little surprised cause I only missed one message from him and then he went to the media after I missed one message from him,”

“I don’t want to say what Chavo got paid for being a stunt coordinator for Young Rock but he got paid a huge amount of money and he asked if he could take the time off and leave,” Khan said saying that Guerrero wasn’t signed to an AEW contract, but was on a weekly deal. Guerrero leaving for Young Rock wasn’t an issue for Tony.

“I said, ‘I would love to have you back and I like you a lot and you did a great thing,’ but now we’re going to have to make our plans going forward without him here and we made plans going forward without him here and we went on,” he said

I definitely owe him a phone call, but I was a little surprised to hear that because I do like him a lot. Chavo could walk in here right now and I’m very pleasant with him, but when I saw that I was like, ‘It’s kind of a busy week,'” Tony said, citing the live shows that he had on tap for the week, but also noting that Chavo wasn’t likely aware of the changes made for Revolution week either. “He did just reach out this week, I just haven’t gotten back to him.”
