Drew McIntyre On Scary Madcap Moss Spot: I Didn’t Realize How Bad It Was Until I Saw The Clip, Thankfully He’s OK

Madcap Moss suffered a scary spill at Elimination Chamber and now Drew McIntyre has offered some perspective on what went wrong during the match.

WWE SmackDown star Drew McIntyre recently appeared on the In The Kliq podcast and went in-depth on his reaction to Madcap Moss’ scary spill during their match at the Elimination Chamber event. McIntyre performed a reverse Alabama Slam during the bout, but Moss inadvertently landed on the top of his head. McIntyre said he didn’t know how bad the landing was until later, but Moss was luckily OK and healthy enough to finish the match.

“I didn’t realize how bad it was until I saw the clip back. Let’s just say that he zigged when he should’ve zagged and the move didn’t go the way it was supposed to. I was aware of that, but I didn’t realize just how bad it was. He was okay and I did double-check that and I could see in his eyes he was good. He was double-checked to make sure that he could finish the match, then after the fact, the necessary precautions were made and thankfully he was all good.

“That’s the thing about this job is all it takes is one second and everything can change. People have their opinions on wrestling except we’re the ones going out there as live-action stuntmen and when we’re putting on those contests at such a high level, we don’t even think twice about it because everyone’s so good at what they do but sometimes in those moves if one thing goes wrong and if somebody tucks when that’s not the plan then awful things can happen and I’m just very happy that he’s OK.”

It was later reported that Moss passed all of his medical tests after the match and was deemed “good to go.”

During the match, Drew McIntyre also hit his signature Claymore Kick on Moss whilst holding his patented sword. While looking back on his other famous Claymores, McIntyre had quite the list of some of his favorites.

“There was one against Cedric Alexander and he takes one where he turned inside out. Ricochet’s also taken that bump a few times where he does a shooting-star press but the one Cedric took was so freaking fast, it was awesome. The one Kofi took off the top-rope was pretty cool, there was one at Elimination Chamber last year where AJ Styles was going for his Phenomenal Forearm and he took the Claymore and when I watched it back I went ‘oh! That was pretty cool’. So, there’s a couple I’ve liked seeing in the highlight reel. Even the one last week when I had the sword on Madcap… I had this giant heavy sword and I didn’t think I could do it then I watched it back and thought it was pretty cool.”
