AEW RAMPAGE

January 28, 2022

Commentary: Excalibur, Ricky Starks, Chris Jericho & Taz

Match 1 – Jon Moxley def. Anthony Bowens via pinfall

A relatively short match was filled with some great moments to open the show. In the end, however, Moxley was able to fight back from an incredible resilient Bowens to take down his opponent. Towards the end of the match, Moxley hit Bowens with his finisher after Max Caster came down to the ring and attempted to interfere.

Match 2 – FTR def. Lee Johnson & Brock Anderson via pinfall

Another short but sweet match sees FTR walking out as the winner. In what turned out to be an incredible match between the two teams, it was two bystanders that caused things to fall apart. Late in the match, Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard began brawling at ringside, causing a distraction that nearly resulted in FTR losing. However, the team was able to stop things just long enough to hit a double-team pile driver on their opponents for the win.

Match 3 – Jade Cargill (c) def. Julia Hart via pinfall – TBS Championship

Jade Cargill continued her dominant run as TBS Champion, taking down Julia Hart in a great addition to the night. Things came to an end when Cargill was able to survive a series of kicks from Hart before being hit with a hurricanrana. After kicking out of a pin attempt, Cargill then landed a running kick to Hart’s head, before lifting her up and dropping her with a massive slam for the win.

Match 4 – Jurassic Express (c) def. Private Party via pinfall – AEW Tag Team Championship

Jurassic Express and Private Party went all out in their title match to close out tonight’s episode of AEW Rampage. However, it was the athleticism and teamwork of Jurassic Express that ended things and gave them another title defense. Late in the match, Jungle Boy was able to reverse a move from the top rope from Marq Quen, before turning it into their finisher for the win.

After the match, The Gunn Club came running down into the ring and took out both of the champions, before ending the night by posing above them with the titles in their hands.
