Killer Kross Is Very Committed To His Character Work, Explains Why Shaving His Head In WWE Was A ‘Tactical’ Approach

Killer Kross is a massive believer in perfecting your craft.

Former WWE star Killer Kross (fka Karrion Kross in WWE) recently appeared on Insight With Chris Van Vliet and discussed his decision to grow his hair out following his departure from the company. Kross would explain how he only went with a bald in the first place because he didn’t think the character that he was portraying needed it.

“I’ve been very committed to character work and I thought that the character would be best portrayed and presented as bald, because there’s a lot of character patterns and behavioral personality traits associated with people that shave their head. It’s like, you can’t style it, you can’t put product in it. For someone who is tactical, for someone who doesn’t care to participate in society and certain levels of social dynamics, they would shave their head because they’re going in for war, they’re going in for combat or something like that.

“I felt that the character presentation at that time would not be concerned at all with having hair. I would go that deep into it, I went to a lot of acting workshops and stuff and watch stuff online about how professional actors and stuff like that would approach their craft. I love wrestling and I want to be the best version of myself, so I would apply that stuff that I learned into what I was doing.”

Killer Kross has been open about films and popular culture inspiring his characterizations in the past; read about how Richard Nixon and Dark City had inspired him in the past at this link.
