Kane Says WWF Hardcore Title Was His Favorite Belt Due To Funny Exchange With TSA Agent

Kane explains why his lone Hardcore Championship reign was memorable for a specific reason.

During a panel at Steel City Comic Con, Kane (Glenn Jacobs) was asked what his favorite belt was in WWF/WWE. Before answering, Kane clarified that they are called titles and “you will get in trouble if you don’t say titles to Vince.” He then shared why the Hardcore title was his favorite one due to an incident at the airport while he was carrying the championship through security.

“My favorite belt was the Hardcore Championship, and the reason is, one time I’m going through TSA security at the airport and I have the belt in my bag. Normally you would take it out so you could go through the metal detector and they’d pull it out,” he explained, “but I forgot and I left it in the bag. So the TSA agent opens my bag, looks at the Hardcore Title and then he looks at me and says, he’s serious, he says, ‘You know it’s broken, right?’ ‘Yeah, that’s kinda the point, dude.’”

JBL, who was also a guest on the panel, also chimed in with a funny Hardcore title story of his own:

“Big Bossman got the Hardcore Title and Bob Holly hit him over the head with so many different things that night, he walked into Vince’s office and gave it back to him. [laughs] True story.”

Kane was the WWF Hardcore Championship one time with a reign that lasted 16 days; he won the title at WrestleMania 17 in a triple threat match involving Raven and Big Show. The former WWE star currently serves as Mayor of Knox County (Tennessee) and he recently explained why he’s focused on his re-election campaign, which you can read more about here.
