AEW Rampage Results (12/17/21)

Tonight on AEW Rampage, there’s a eight-man tag and a ten-man tag taking place and Tay Conti battles Penelope Ford in a submission match.

AEW RAMPAGE

December 12, 2021, Garland, TX

Commentary: Excalibur, Ricky Starks & Taz

MATCH 1

Orange Cassidy, Best Friends & Rocky Romero def. Young Bucks, Adam Cole & Bobby Fish via pinfall. Orange Cassidy executes a hot flurry of offense as the heels focus on Trent’s bad neck. Cassidy gets isolated into the commercial break. Trent finally gets the hot tag and it’s his first set of action since returning. He takes everyone out. The fight continues until Trent nails Fish with a Strong Zero driver for the win.

Dan Lambert returns. He says standing in front of all these douche bags is the last place I want to be, but he’s doing it on behalf of his Men of the Year. He says everyone kisses Tony Khan’s ass.  He calls Khan a “con man” and says he’s pushed all these weirdos and undeserving EVPs. He says he’s turning this company into a late 90’s WCW. Lambert then goes after Cody Rhodes and runs down Rhodes To The Top. That cues Cody’s music.

Cody is booed as he grabs the mic from Dan Lambert. Lambert grabs it back before Cody snatches it again. This goes back and forth until Cody attacks Scorpio Sky. He gets ganged up on until Dustin Rhodes comes in for the save. Dustin sets sights on Lambert who bails out as MOTY attack The Rhodes Brothers. Sammy Guevara comes out next. High elevated springboard cutter to Sky. “Sammy” chants break out.

We see video pitches for the remaining contenders in the TBS Women’s Championship Tournament.

MATCH 2

Tay Conti def. Penelope Ford via submission in Submission Match. Tay wastes no time as she immediately attacks Ford. The fight spills to the outside briefly until Tay gets Ford into an armbar attempt. Ford makes it to the ropes. Bunny hops on the apron to distract the referee while Ford is in a modified crossface. Fight goes up top and Ford turns it into a dragon sleeper crossface while on the back of Tay. She turns this into backbreakers. Ford hits a handspring cutter and then an inverted cravaet. Conti catches Ford in a modified back guillotine choke. Post-match, Bunny bops Conti with the brass knucks which causes Anna Jay to run in.

MAIN EVENT

2point0, The Acclaimed & Daniel Garcia def. Eddie Kingston, Lucha Brothers & Santana & Ortiz via pinfall. It was Garcia who got the handful of trunks to get the 1-2-3 on Eddie. Post-match, Jurassic Express save the faces before teasing a title fight against The Lucha Brothers.
