Bryan Danielson Wants To Change The AEW World Title: Why Are We Still Making Stuff Out Of Animal Skin?

“The Planet’s Champion” has spoken.

Though a lot has changed since Daniel Bryan carried an eco-friendly WWE Championship, Bryan Danielson‘s mission to help the environment remains the same. “The American Dragon” is shining bright in AEW, and he’ll challenge Hangman Page for the AEW World Championship on Wednesday night’s special “Winter is Coming” episode of Dynamite. Looking forward to the bout, Danielson has one priority in mind that has nothing to do with the action in the ring.

In an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Danielson described how he’d like to change the world title by using more synthetic materials, rather than the traditional leather.

“I do not understand why we are still making anything out of animal skin,” said Danielson. “We don’t need to. The synthetic fibers are just as good-looking and just as durable as leather, and we don’t harm any animals. I don’t know if I’d go all the way to the hemp and naturally fallen oak, but I’d love to get that changed.”

Danielson noted that any modification woudn’t have to be as drastic as the belt made from hemp and oak in WWE, but he clearly wants to do right by the environment however he can.
