Will Ospreay: MLW Appearance Will Happen, Just Not When It Was Meant To

NJPW star Will Ospreay will seemingly make his Major League Wrestling debut after all.

On December 6, SEScoops reported that the renowned wrestler’s announced appearance for MLW was off. This report cited Ospreay himself confirming the news. The report noted that NJPW was displeased with MLW’s new working relationship with All Japan Pro-Wrestling, which could prompted the decision.

But on December 7, “The Commonwealth Kingpin” shot down the rumors of this nixed arrival in the promotion.

“Lads MLW will happen,” wrote Ospreay. “Just not when it was meant too [sic].”

MLW announced that the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion was coming to the promotion back in October, but the announcement didn’t specify when or where he would show up. A subsequent update noted that Ospreay’s debut would come in December, after his previously announced appearance at MLW’s War Chamber tapings didn’t materialize.

Ospreay has been competing at several stateside NJPW STRONG shows in recent months, so it’s easy to connect the dots and see how he could work potentially some MLW tapings.

WrestleZone will provide more details as they become available.
