Backstage, Seth Rollins says Kevin Owen’s weaseled his way into Rollins’ title match at Day 1. In a few moments, Owens and WWE Champion Big E will be locked in a steel cage. Rollins is going to watch them destroy each other. At Day 1, Rollins will be the new WWE Champion.
Big E says not only is he going to beat Owens, but he’s also going to make him suffer. Big E makes his way to the ring.
From another spot backstage, Owens says Big E is the liar. That’s not Big E’s WWE Championship, it belongs to Owens. Owens is going to make Big E suffer tonight, and that’s no lie.
Steel Cage Match: Big E vs. Kevin Owens
As soon as the bell rings, Owens bolts for the door. Big E cuts him off and lands a few strikes. Owens pushes Big E away and goes for the door again. Big E cuts him off again. Owens tries to climb the cage, Big E crotches Owens on the top rope. Big E lands a flurry of strikes while Owens is pinned between the ropes and the cage. Owens knocks Big E away. Owens climbs the cage again. Big E tries to push Owens’ head between the small space where the cage sides meet. Big E runs into Owens, smashing him against the cage. Owens sidesteps as Big E tries it again. Big E runs into the cage, head first.
After the break, Owens lands a springboard moonsault for a near fall. Big E reverses Owens Irish whip, sending Owens into the cage. Big E goes for the door but Owens stops it. Owens slams Big E’s head into the cage. Owens starts his climb. Big E follows. Owens slams Big E’s head off the cage again. Big E falls to the mat. Owens almost gets to the top. Big E tries to electric chair drop Owens. Owens reverses it into a sunset powerbomb. Big E kicks out. Big E fires up and lands a series of belly-to-belly suplexes. Owens lands a superkick. Cannonball by Owens. Big E kicks out.

Owens goes for the door, only to be cut off by Big E again. Owens locks Big E in a Boston Crab. Big E crawls towards the door. Both Owens and Big E are half out of the cage. Rollins appears out of nowhere and slams the cage door on both their heads. After the break, Big E tries to set up a Big Ending off the top rope. Owens claws Big E’s eyes. Big E falls back down to the mat. Frog splash by Owens. Big E kicks out. Big E crawls to the corner. Owens charges in and Big E makes him sit down.
Big E tries the Big Ending again. Owens counters and almost hits the Stunner. Big E avoids it but runs right into a pop-up powerbomb. Big E kicks out again. Owens climbs to the top of the cage. Rollins screams for Big E to get up. Big E hits the Big Ending off the second rope. Big E crawls to the door. Owens grabs Big E’s foot. Big E kicks Owens off and crawls out of the cage for the win.
Winner- Big E
After the match, Rollins attacks Big E and Owens. Rollins tries to Stomp Owens but Big E catches him in mid-air and hits a nasty belly-to-belly. Big E hits another Big Ending on Owens for good measure.
