Da Pope, also known as Elijah Burke, is reportedly banged up following NWA Hard Times 2.
Among several buzzworthy moments, NWA’s pay-per-view also had one concerning outcome, as Da Pope reportedly suffered an injury on Saturday. According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Burke went to the hospital after the show, and he was held out of “all physical duty” at the subsequent tapings of NWA Powerrr on December 5.
Per Johnson, Burke was hurt after the main event bout, when he he got thrown into the steel steps by Matt Cardona. After he was evaluated at the hospital, Burke “is believed to have suffered a concussion,” per the same report, but he’s expected to make a full recovery.
Update: Burke later commented on the injury; he noted that “all is 100% well”, but he’s following protocols. He also thanked the NWA family for their help.
