Stephanie McMahon: Vince McMahon Documentary Will Release At Some Point In 2022

Fans won’t have to wait too much longer for the highly-anticipated Netflix docuseries about WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.

In an interview with Adam’s Apple during the March of Dimes Annual Sports Luncheon, WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon stated that the documentary will arrive at some point next year, but the specific date of the premiere hasn’t been confirmed yet.

“It’s scheduled currently to release next year in 2022, said Stephanie. “The timing is still TBD.”

When asked to describe her thoughts on the series, Stephanie noted that she’s excited and nervous to see the way it will tell her father’s story.

“I am equal parts excited and equal parts like really nervous about this documentary,” said Stephanie. “I don’t know what it’s going to say, but it’s gonna capture his life and his story, which so richly deserves to be told.”

WWE first announced the news about the documentary during the 2020 third quarter earnings call, when WWE President Nick Khan stated that it will have one of the highest budgets in Netflix history. Behind the scenes, a star-studded group of minds is leading the way with the series; executive producer Bill Simmons was previously renowned for his work on HBO’s Andre the Giant documentary, and director Chris Smith is known for his Fyre Festival documentary for Netflix.

The WWE Chairman will also be in the spotlight when “The United States vs. Vince McMahon”, a series that’s being developed by WWE and Blumhosue Studios, arrives; this program will focus on the infamous 1994 steroid trial that shook the company to its core.

WrestleZone will provide more details as they become available.
