Darby Allin Wants To Face Bryan Danielson, Doesn’t Plan To Split Up With Sting

Darby Allin is one of the brightest young stars in All Elite Wrestling, and he’s faced some of the biggest names on the company’s impressive roster. From Cody Rhodes and CM Punk to MJF and Ethan Page, he has mixed it up with many renowned competitors.

During a recent Bleacher Report AMA, Allin specifically named Bryan Danielson as the next dream opponent on his list. The former AEW TNT Champion described how he wants to face “The American Dragon” when AEW runs a show in Seattle. This location would add even more meaning to the bout because Danielson is from Aberdeen, Washington, and Seattle is close to Allin’s heart.

“When we go to Seattle, Bryan Danielson,” said Allin. “The fact that he has no ego with us: he can wrestle on Rampage. He can wrestle on Dynamite. He can wrestle on Dark. There’s no ego. He’s not like the type that’s ‘I only wrestle on pay-per-views.’ It’s like, ‘No, I’m going to wrestle every single weekend.’ I want someone that’s hungry like that to wrestle against myself. It’s fun, man.”

In recent months, Allin has been paired up with WWE Hall of Famer Sting. They’ve had a few tag team matches together, and “The Icon” often serves as Allin’s manager/enforcer. When asked whether it’s time to split up with Sting, the fan-favorite star noted that there’s “no reason” to have them go separate ways.

“That’s not in the cards yet, ever. It’s different when there’s two young guys trying to prove to each other they’re better, but Sting has done everything twice. He has no ego. There is no reason he’d want to split up.”

Allin also praised Sting’s “amazing” abilities as a mentor and expressed his appreciation for the veteran.

“He’s amazing as a mentor,” said Allin. “He’s the most humble guy. We sit there all day and just talk. As for being someone I look up to, I was too young when he was killing it at the top of his game, but the older I get the more I’m able to appreciate him.

Allin will be in action, presumably with Sting by his side, when he faces Billy Gunn on the November 19 episode of AEW Rampage.
