The most legendary team in Ring of Honor history is reportedly backstage at AEW Dynamite tonight.
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Mark and Jay Briscoe are “slated to be” backstage at the show. Fightful’s report emphasizes that it’s unclear whether the duo will appear on the show or officially work with AEW in any capacity. One source reportedly noted that The Briscoes are simply visiting, as this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite is being held in Norfolk, Virginia, and Mark and Jay live less than three hours away.
The Briscoes are 11-time ROH World Tag Team Champions, and they currently hold the GCW Tag Team Championship. In recent weeks, the brothers have been taking bookings in the aftermath of the announcement that ROH will be going on hiatus for the first quarter of 2022 and reportedly not renewing the talents of its talent roster. Meanwhile, company is reportedly open to working with wrestlers who want to take bookings elsewhere. Various ROH stars are popping up throughout the independent circuit, including Mark and Jay themselves. They’ve been announced for more GCW shows, and the duo will make their DEFY Wrestling debut.
AEW signed former ROH World Champion Jay Lethal over the weekend, and fans continue to wonder whether other ROH standouts could soon follow him.
