Becky Lynch understands that the “brand supremacy” concept of WWE Survivor Series is a bit outdated.

Becky Lynch recently sat down with Vincente Beltran to discuss all things WWE. When asked about the lack of stakes of Sunday’s Survivor Series pay-per-view, Becky Lynch admitted that brand supremacy is a little outdated:

“Yeah, I mean, that would be helpful. The whole brand supremacy is a little outdated,” Becky Lynch admitted. “But at the same time, we’re all competitors, and you always want to be the best, and whatever it is, whatever carrot they dangle, you always want to be the best. Whether it’s, ‘here, the winner gets a freakin banana.’ Like, ‘well, I want that freakin’ banana. I want to prove that I deserve that banana.’ So you always want to be the best, so I think whatever the logic is, you can make it work when you’re a competitive human, which we all are. You don’t get to WWE if you’re not competitive.”

When asked about how the company decided what to do with her championship after she found out she was pregnant, Becky Lynch revealed the original idea was to do a tournament to crown a new champion, but with Money in the Bank right around the corner… those plans changed:

“So Colby (Seth Rollins) and I when I found out I was pregnant, we were trying to figure out what would be the best way,” Becky Lynch began. “And I thought maybe a tournament for the title or a tournament for the number one contendership and then at the end when it comes down to the last two people just before they have their much announced that hey well, actually by the way, it’s not for the number one contendership, it’s for the title and to have that be a very real moment.

“But at the time, it was just before Money in the Bank. And so I think collaborating with Paul Heyman, and he’s like, ‘Well, we’re just gonna have Money in the Bank be for the title, but they won’t know it until the day after the Monday after and when you announce it,’ and so that’s what we did.”

Becky Lynch recently spoke about her issues with Charlotte Flair and explained why Flair’s gender isn’t the issue people have with her; read her explanation at this link.
