NJPW Best Of Super Juniors 28: Night 2 Results (11/15)

New Japan Pro Wrestling continued the 28th Best of Super Junior tournament on Monday. The show was headlined by another loss for IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion El Desperado. A heavy favorite heading into this year’s tournament, Desperado has fallen to two Bullet Club members in a row.

On Monday it was Taiji Ishimori, picking up where SHO left off on Saturday, submitting Desperado with a Bone Lock. SHO also continued his hot streak, picking up a win over Hiromu Takahashi.

SHO got help from House of Torture, including Hiromu’s former LIJ stablemate EVIL planting last year’s BOSJ winner with an STO, before SHO locked in a perfunctory Triangle Choke for the the ref stoppage. However it wasn’t all sunshine for Bullet Club on Monday.

El Phantasmo has been on a cold streak since the tournament started on Saturday. First losing to Master Wato, and now falling to Suzuki-gun’s Yoshinobu Kanemaru. The Bullet Club junior has been able to find any footing in these first two matches, with Kanemaru going shenanigan-for-shenanigan with ELP.

Kanemaru’s stablemate DOUKI is also on a winning streak, after beating BUSHI on Saturday, DOUKI picked up a big win over YOH. YOH was absolutely crushed by Hiromu on night 1, and now fell to DOUKI. There is some question to whether YOH’s head is fully in the game, or if he’s distracted by former-tag partner SHO.

Elsewhere on the card, BUSHI & Robbie Eagles both picked up make-good wins, after being on the losing end of night 1. Also Kosei Fujita took Ryohei Oiwa to the limit and let it go by.
