Renee Paquette appreciates the support everyone has given her family since it was announced that Jon Moxley would be stepping away to deal with some personal issues.
On Tuesday night, Tony Khan revealed that Jon Moxley would be entering an inpatient treatment center for alcoholism, and would be stepping away from the wrestling business and public eye to get help. On Wednesday, Paquette posted the following statement, thanking everyone for their well wishes during this time:
“Thanks for this outpouring of support. Jon is every bit of the badass we all know him to be. I couldn’t be more proud of him for getting to proper help he needs, and being given the space to put his health first. Couldn’t possibly love this man more,” Paquette wrote.
Prior to Tuesday’s announcement, Jon Moxley was scheduled to face Orange Cassidy in the semifinals of the World Title Eliminator Tournament on the November 3 episode of AEW Dynamite, but it’s unclear how AEW will proceed in Moxley’s absence. Moxley had just conducted an interview to promote his new book, Mox, and talked about how his family was planning on moving back to Cincinnati this week.
