Report: CarShield Pauses Ric Flair Commerical Campaign Following ‘Dark Side Of The Ring’ Episode

Ric Flair‘s CarShield commerical campaign has reportedly been paused in the midst of the controversy surrounding Flair’s actions on the infamous “Plane Ride From Hell”, which was the subject of the newest episode of “Dark Side of the Ring.”

The episode, which aired on Thursday, focused on Flair, among others, for his actions on the plane; he allegedly exposed himself, and flight attendant Heidi Doyle accused him of sexual assault. On the show, Doyle described how Flair, naked underneath a robe, cornered her and made sexual advances that she did not consent to.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that Intermedia, the advertising agency responsible for CarShield, has decided to pause the campaign so it can explore this matter. Johnson shared the following quote from a spokesperson for Intermedia:

“We take these matters very seriously.  As of right now, we are pausing the campaign and we will do our due diligence.”

Johnson’s report also notes that Flair’s CarShield commericals will soon disappear, pending a further investigation about Flair’s actions.

The “Plane Ride From Hell” episode has already generated various consequences; IMPACT Wrestling suspended Tommy Dreamer in response to his “unacceptable” comments during an interview on the show.

WrestleZone will provide more details as they become available.
