Tommy Dreamer Suspended Indefinitely By IMPACT Wrestling For Controversial ‘Dark Side Of The Ring’ Comments

Tommy Dreamer is feeling the repercussions for his controversial comments made on Dark Side of the Ring

“The Plane Ride from Hell” aired on Vice TV on Thursday night, and less than 24 hours later, IMPACT Wrestling is taking action against Dreamer, who works for the company as an agent. For those unaware, Tommy Dreamer brushed off the actions of Ric Flair during “The Plane Ride from Hell” on last night’s episode of Dark Side of the Ring. Heidi Doyle, one of the flight attendants on the plane, accused Flair of assault after forcing her to grab his penis in the galley area of the plane after he’d disrobed and exposed himself.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, IMPACT staff was informed that Tommy Dreamer would not be present at this weekend’s television tapings in Nashville during this morning’s production meeting. IMPACT will be filming content the next three days that will likely cover the company all the way to their Bound For Glory pay-per-view in October.

PWInsider.com has since confirmed that Tommy Dreamer has been suspended indefinitely by IMPACT Wrestling due to his comments on the show. According to an email sent by IMPACT President Ed Nordholm, Dreamer was suspended because his comments on Dark Side Of The Ring are “out of line with our core values” as a company. It was noted that Dreamer was asked to leave Nashville “effectively immediately” and if anyone had any questions about the situation, they could reach out to management.

Among the complaints regarding his behavior, Dreamer commented on Flair’s reputation for exposing himself in public by saying he was doing “Ric Flair stuff” and that he’d never seen Flair act in a malicious manner or force himself on someone. He also responded to Doyle’s testimony by saying Flair wasn’t trying to force himself on her and that if she felt like she was assaulted, she “should have not taken a payout” and could have “went to the fullest extend of the law” to put Flair in jail if he was the man she accused him of being.

Tommy Dreamer would go on to say that Doyle’s story is an attempt to frame Flair as a sexual predator, when it was just a “gag” that amounted to being a sign of the times. He went on to say that it would be completely inappropriate today, but plenty of things are inappropriate now, adding that people get offended about things like him having a double ponytail at 50 years old.
