Reported Reason Chavo Guerrero Was Written Off Of AEW TV, His Future With The Promotion

The alliance between Chavo Guerrero and Andrade is no more, but the former’s departure was all part of the plan.

Chavo Guerrero debuted in All Elite Wrestling as the “executive consultant” for Andrade, but his stay was ultimately a short one. Andrade ultimately turned on Guerrero and attacked him on the September 10 episode of AEW Rampage and ended their partnership, and now we have a reason for the split.

According to a new report from The Wrestling Observer NewsletterChavo Guerrero’s departure was expected, as he’s signed on as the wrestling coordinator for NBC’s Young Rock and had to leave to start filming the show’s second season. It was explained that Guerrero is expected back in AEW once he’s met his filming commitments.

The Observer also noted that Guerrero and Tony Khan always had an agreement that the former would work through All Out before doing the angle, due to Young Rock getting renewed for another season.

Guerrero’s last appearance on AEW TV saw him in the corner of Andrade for his match with PAC. Chavo hit PAC with a foreign object which led to Andrade picking up the win, but Andrade surprisingly laid out Chavo on the ramp before the Lucha Bros added insult to injury with a couple of superkicks.
