Anthony Bowens Names 2point0 As A Team He’d Like To Face, Looks Forward To Working With Many Others

As one half of The Acclaimed, Anthony Bowens continues to enjoy some breakout success in All Elite Wrestling.

Bowens and his tag team partner Max Caster hit the ground running with the company, as they faced some of the company’s best and brightest early on. But during an appearance on My Mom’s Basement with Robbie Fox, Bowens explained that there are still many stars he wants to face. Specifically, he named 2point0 as a tag team he’d like to work with because it would pit two sets of “eclectic” characters against each other.

“We went through a lot [of opponents] pretty fast,” said Bowens. “It was [Chris] Jericho, it was the Bucks, and we checked those off of the box pretty quickly. Same thing, I wanted to wrestle PAC, got him two weeks ago. Cody. Kenny Omega, I got big into New Japan, so to have Kenny here as a resource and somebody that I could potentially have a banger with, he’s definitely one of them.

“There’s a ton of people on the tag roster that we haven’t [faced] yet. I’d love to do FTR, Proud ‘n’ Powerful, hopefully New York City maybe next week. There’s so many different tag teams that I think we would have an interesting dynamic with. I think 2point0 would be an interesting one too because it’s two really big eclectic kind of characters going head to head, with so many different possibilities. So there’s a lot to be excited about for The Acclaimed and for fans.”

In a more general sense, Bowens expressed his gratitude for his home in AEW, as he feels comfortable being his authentic self both on-screen and behind the scenes. As someone who openly represents the LGBTQ community, Bowens noted that it’s “insane” to see how many wrestlers, himself included, within this community continue to shine.

“I try to stay in the moment and just keep going because everything just comes so fast now at AEW that I probably should take more time to stop and think like how wonderful it is that I’m able to be myself authentically in a locker room like AEW and on television and be a positive representation of the LGBT community as an entertainer and as an athlete.

“There was a time in my life when I didn’t think that would be able to happen….To see how it’s all turned out is absolutely insane, and now I’m lucky enough to try and help people who are in my shoes, and hopefully I am. If there’s at least one person I can help, then job well done.”
