All Elite Wrestling is headed home for the holidays.
On Tuesday, All Elite Wrestling announced they will return to Chicago with a double taping on Wednesday, November 24. The Thanksgiving Eve taping will feature a taping for AEW Dynamite and AEW Rampage; tickets will go on sale on Friday, September 17 at http://AEWTIX.com.
The November taping will mark the first event in Chicago (city limits) since AEW Rampage: The First Dance on August 20, which also served as CM Punk’s debut with the company. AEW All Out took place in Schaumburg (a suburb of Chicago), but this is also the first time AEW will return to the Wintrust Arena since AEW Revolution took place in February 2020.
Tony Khan has been open in the past about wanting to make Thanksgiving in Chicago an annual tradition for All Elite Wrestling. During a media interview for All Out 2019, Khan, an Illinois native, said he loves where he grew up and wanted to give the local community an event to look forward to each year when they’re all home for Thanksgiving.
All Elite Wrestling did not run an event in Chicago in November 2020 due to COVID-19, but it looks like the annual tradition is back on this year.
