Ilja Dragunov says he would love another shot at facing A-Kid.
Dragunov, the new NXT UK Champion, recently spoke with ViBe Wrestling and was asked about A-Kid’s progression in professional wrestling. Dragunov noted that he puts over A-Kid a lot because he’s a tremendous talent and he enjoyed their first match together, so he’d welcome the chance to face him once more.
“I definitely think he’s ready. I’ve been talking about A-Kid a lot of time in other interviews and I see him as a huge talent, where people definitely shouldn’t sleep on him,” Dragunov said. “They should keep their eyes on him because of that work mentality he has, which I can see. And already because of the first match we already had, I would love just simply love to prove myself with him again.”
Dragunov ended WALTER’s 870-day reign as NXT UK Champion at NXT TakeOver 36 by making him tap out, something he’s never done in his WWE career. Last week, Dragunov also bested Roderick Strong in impressive fashion on NXT, so A-Kid had better bring his best if he hopes to take down the new champion in a potential rematch.
